Featured Artist

1.What is your name?
Shirley

2. What is the name of your Etsy shop?
For Any Occasion

3. How long have you been open?
since October 31, 2010
4. Where do you live (state)?
Hamilton, Ontario, Canada

5. Are you married, single or somewhere in between?
I'm married to the best man I know, Jeffery, for 7 years this May.
6. Do you have children or pets?
We have a son, Alexander, who is almost 3 years old, and a daught, Isabel, who is 4 months old.

7.What is your favorite technique?
I love stamping! And punching! And funky folds! Well, anything to do with paper and ink, really.
8. What is your favorite product?
anything Stampin' Up!

9.What prompted you to start selling your creations?
I've been making cards for my husband's clients since 2009, and we would get calls from his customers, saying how much they loved and appreciated receiving the cards I made for them. Jeffery gave the idea to me; since he knew I enjoy it so much, he thought it would be great if I could also make some money on the side from what I love to do! So we have decided that whatever income I make from my creative business, I will be putting into my kids' education fund - I want to send them to Christian schools, and every little bit will help!

10.What else would you like us to know about you?
I am a perfectionist when it comes to my craft. I don't sell "just okay" products. I am a night owl. I stay up until midnight or 1:00 a.m. designing new cards - which is crazy, I know, with two kids, but I still do it. Someday it will catch up with me. I'm a sucker for Skor blizzards, bananas and butterscotch ripple ice cream (together, of course!), sweet green grapes, and peaches.

Info & New Featured Artist!

Hello all! Our fabulous team of card makers has reached 50 members! Wooohooo! Now for the featured artist for March....RWKrafts! Here is her profile so read on then check out her shop at RWKrafts!

I also have a photography section of my shop where some of my favorite photograph prints are for sale. How long have you been crafting or making things? I have been crafting since I was a child, and always made colorful collages out of magazine cut outs. How did you get started? I have always made cards and scrapbooks as gifts for friends and family and I always received many compliments and encouraging words!
4.What prompted you to start selling your creations? In October 2010, my healthy mother had a stroke that paralyzed the right side of her body and left her with no speech or reading abilities. She was backpacking in the bottom of the Grand Canyon when it happened and had to get air-lifted out. This prompted me to quit my job as a preschool teacher and I had to leave my graduate program (masters in clinical mental health counseling) so I could travel across the country to help my mom through rehab. This left me with ample free time and soul-searching that I should focus on something I truly enjoy and love.
5.What do you enjoy most about creating? Creating and crafting are amazing because I am the boss of whatever I make! I can make whatever I'm in the mood for, and it always cheers me up!

Angel Policies For Stamp Companies

Ok ladies I have info regarding which stamp companies have angel policies. These are just stamps I own or have owned so I checked their policies either on their websites or by email. If you guys have other stamps not listed let me know & I'll check on them for you & post it here. This is also posted on our Facebook page.

Autumn Leaves- Our Angel policy states, If using stamps, please hand-stamp each project individually. No mechanical reproduction of any sort is allowed. No scanning, no photocopying, no printing of items for resale or use. You must use the original item. Use of our products need to be pieces that are individually hand made, sold regionally and not nationally, and not printed on a press. They can’t be mass-produced or sold nationally, but if these guidelines are followed there is no problem with cards or other items being made and sold for resale. The policy applies to limited production; local artists only. We will take legal action if we see a violation.

Bellas- Stamping Bella's rubber stamps are for personal and non-commercial use only. However, our valued customers may use our products to produce any creations they would like, which can include selling or otherwise distributing these creations in limited quantities. All commercial use of our designs is subject to the following terms and conditions: All stamp impressions must be made by hand and no mechanical or other form of reproduction is permitted. Quantities are limited to projects that are limited in scope and otherwise do not constitute an ongoing business. Additionally, quantities for commercial use are generally allowed if they are in the range of 50 or less hand stamped impressions per stamp image. The production of much larger numbers, and/or for an ongoing business, and/or for an endeavor that is not local in nature, is forbidden. Wherever possible, Stamping Bella Trademarks and Copyrights should be displayed. To use our images for this purpose, simply send or e-mail us a letter acknowledging you agree to the above terms, and include the following information:
Your name and contact information
A list of the Stamping Bella's products you plan to use
The quantities you anticipate producing
An acknowledgment that you "Agree to respect Stamping Bella's copyrights."

Hampton Art- Hampton Art is a full fledged Angel Company. This entitles the stamp owner to make projects for personal use or to sell as handmade one-of-a-kind creations. This policy applies to all Hampton designs, including those under license from various designers.

Hero Arts- The purchaser of a Hero Arts product is granted a limited license to use such product, for personal, noncommercial use only. Reproduction of Hero Arts products or images in any way for either commercial use or in an inappropriate manner is prohibited without written consent.

House Mouse- House-Mouse Designs, Inc. permits its valued customers the following limited rights of commercial use regarding it's rubber stamp images: All stamp impressions must be made by hand. No mechanical or other form of reproduction is permitted. Only limited quantities, not to exceed 100 per design, may be made for commercial use. In connection with each commercial use within these permissible limits, the user shall clearly display on the project the following: “Black line Image Art: Copyright House-Mouse Designs, Inc.” You may sell cards, or projects which include the stamped image. You may not sell just the plain black line stamped images alone that have been stamped onto paper or any other material. The above Terms and Conditions apply to the House-Mouse Designs®, HappyHoppers® and Gruffies® rubber stamps.

Rubber Stampede- Licensed images such as Cynthia Hart™, Suzy Zoo™, Ellen Blonder™, Looney Tunes™, Suzanne Nicoll™, and Kerren Barbas™ cannot be used at this time. This does not apply to designs we license by other designers (i.e. Cherished Teddies, Precious Moments, etc.)
